About

Become a Wetland Detective

What can a bird, a dragonfly, or even a drop of water tell you about a wetland?

Join WWF-India at Bashettihalli Wetland for a hands-on morning of observation, exploration and discovery. You’ll become a wetland detective, working in teams to spot birds and insects, investigate the water and piece together clues about the wetland around you.

Along the way, you’ll explore one key question:

How healthy is this wetland?

No specialist knowledge is needed. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to look a little closer at the natural world around you.

What to Expect
01 — Get Your Field Kit

Start with a quick briefing, collect your field kit and get into teams.

02 — Follow the Clues

Head out into the wetland to look for birds, butterflies and dragonflies. What can you spot that others might miss?

03 — Test the Waters

Use a simple field kit to investigate the water and discover what it can tell you about the wetland.

04 — Connect the Dots

Bring your observations together. What are the species, water and other clues telling us?

05 — Read the Wetland

End with a group reveal and conversation about what helps a wetland thrive, and what threatens its flow.

*Registration Required.
